This session will focus on helping participants understand the key provisions of federal law from which Special Education regulations are drawn, IDEA and Section 504 of the Americans With Disabilities Act. Ms. Waugh will also cover key regulations in Virginia's code that pertain to the school's obligation for assessing children suspected of having a disability, how eligibility is determined, and what children are entitled to when found eligible for an IEP or 504.

CASA volunteers will earn 2 in-service hours.
