This training is designed specifically for parents who have students who may need instruction in the home environment. Advocates and other community stakeholders who work with parents of students with behavior difficulties are also invited and encouraged to participate in this training. This workshop will focus on the mandated requirements of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEA 2004) and the Regulations Governing Special Education Programs for Children with Disabilities in Virginia (The Virginia Regulations) as they relate to both homebound & home-based educational placements. Additionally, participants will review the requirements outlined in the VDOE Homebound Instructional Services Guidelines. Participants will discuss the regulations and best practices as they apply to least restrictive educational placements. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions.
