Celebrating Our 2024 CASA Award Winners

At CASA of Central Virginia's recent Volunteer/Donor Appreciation Event, we recognized the outstanding contributions of our volunteers, corporate partners, and donors. Their dedication and generosity play a crucial role in our mission to support abused and neglected children. Below are our 2024 award winners and what they have done for CASA this past year.

Dale H. Harris Hall of Fame Award

The Dale H. Harris Hall of Fame Award recognizes volunteers and board members who have made significant contributions to CASA and helped achieve positive outcomes for abused and neglected children. It is our most prestigious award and we want to congratulate the following winners:

Kevin Birnbaum - CASA Board Treasurer

Kevin has been instrumental in ensuring CASA’s financial stability. His leadership in board nominations and his advocacy work have made a significant impact on our mission.

Jamie Campbell - CASA Volunteer

Despite a demanding job, Jamie has shown remarkable dedication as a CASA volunteer for three years. His empathy, accountability, and strong connections with children and case professionals have profoundly impacted the families he serves.

Tim Player - CASA Volunteer

Tim has provided top-notch advocacy, particularly in cases involving sibling groups with separate placements. His collaboration with case professionals and relationships with biological families have been highly praised.

Elisa Calvo Tone

Elisa has been with CASA for 3.5 years, serving two cases involving sibling groups. Her thorough monitoring and insightful work have earned her the respect of case professionals, and her advocacy has made a lasting difference.

Philanthropist of the Year Award

The Philanthropist of the Year Award was established to honor individuals who have made a significant financial investment in the long-term sustainability of our program. This year, we chose two winners of this award:
