Lynchburg Police Department show off their mustaches during M4K 2015

Join us as we kickoff the "growing season" for Mustaches 4 Kids! Location TBA. Raise money during the month of November for CASA, Boys and Girls Club, and Big Brothers Big Sisters simply by growing facial hair! Let's Grow This Thing!

About M4K Lynchburg

M4K Lynchburg is a volunteer-run organization that spun off of M4K Richmond in 2014 with the goal of raising money for local children’s charities while having fun growing mustaches. In it's first year nearly 40 Lynchburg based growers sprouted sweet mustaches for a month and raised over $30,000 for The Boys and Girls Club of Lynchburg and other local children's charities. In 2015 we grew on our rookie year success and raised over $53,000 for The Boys and Girls Club of Lynchburg and CASA of Central Virginia.  In 2016, we raised more than $80,000 for Boys and Girls Club, CASA of Central Virginia, and Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Central Virginia!

Here's how it works: Each year, during the four-week Growing Season spanning November and December, Growers sprout sweet, sweet Mustaches. Per Mustaches for Kids bylaws, they shave their faces, except for the Mustache, a minimum of one time per week and solicit donations from friends, family, co-workers, and people in the community. Kind of like getting pledges to run a marathon. Without the exertion, cramping, or dehydration. Call it a facial hair marathon.

At the end of the Growing Season, the Growers hold a Mustache Competition called the Stache Bash, which is a cross between a beauty pageant, dog show, and police line up. During the Competition, Growers, often in Mustache-enhancing costumes, are put through a test of mind, body, and Mustache and allow their facial hair to be evaluated by an independent panel of judges, and one Mustache is declared to be the "Sweetest.."
